At the beginning of the year I made Homemade Laundry Detergent and set my scrapbook goals. My scrapbook is an on-going project but I haven't really been as aggressive as I'd like so I might jump back on that.
Here are a few craft projects I did last year for the holidays:
And before that Mom and I worked on the kiddo's SuperWhy Costume for Bless 'n' Treat. Hmmmm that's a good point I better start thinking through this year's costume.
And last summer we did home improvement projects:
Hmmm I'm not sure what I want to tackle next. My sister Rosie and I really want to get our etsy shop up and running so maybe that will be our next project.
Are you working on any projects this summer?? Crafting? Home Improvements? Tell me about what's going on! I'd love to hear about your projects and what you are accomplishing this summer.

Okay so let’s do this! I will be posting about the uber over the top 3rd birthday party I put on for my son this past weekend. I will show you the projects we worked on with tips and ideas etc. I am waiting on pictures from my dear friend Candace who was the photographer for the event. I will share more over the next few days as the pictures come in.
Since we set up my old camera on a tripod and use it to take pictures of the photo booth I’ll share those pictures first as I have them all done.
THE PHOTOBOOTH
Each kid could go over and get dressed up in their clown outfit:
The hats were made from paper plates. The kids got to use stickers to decorate them as they wanted. The poms on top were made from giant pipe cleaners (yes they make these and they are AMAZING!!!). They got an official foam clown nose and the collars were made from coffee filters!! (My sister Jessie came up with that idea – BRILLIANT!!) over all the cost for this activity was very minimal.
Once they were dressed up they could step right into the photo booth. We had props for them to play around with and get some funny pictures. I do wish I would have had extended the paper to adult height so those who couldn’t sit on the ground could have easily stood to get their picture taken. But for the kids it was an AMAZINGLY PERFECT set up! I am certain I will be doing a photo booth for EVERY party I do from now on absolutely the most fun especially for me when I go to scrapbook. I will be sending a print of each of the people in the photographs in the thank you notes. The backdrop was made using sheets of heavy duty wrapping paper that I we had picked up a couple years ago at a church yardsale. We bought like 20-30 rolls because there were only 2 sheets per roll so good purchase there. It made for a wonderful backdrop.
The only thing I would have changed would be to have an umbrella or reflectors some how to adjust the sun that was coming from all over and casting shadows…but hey it worked and I’m THRILLED with the resulting pictures:
This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the party!!!
Today is my son’s 3rd birthday! What a day! Honestly it does feel just like yesterday that we were just going to the hospital and then bringing this little boy home. Looking back at the pictures and seeing him at 1 day, 1 year and 2 years old just brings back memories I can kind of remember him being so small. Now at 3 he is so smart and independent he likes to figure things out on his own.
He loves Thomas & Friends and we lug all the pieces he owns from our house to grandmas house each day. Grandma still watches him during the day and helps continue mine and Ken’s parenting goals. (We sure are thankful for grandma). He absolutely loves to go to grandmas house.
AMAZING what parenthood does to you. God sure has blessed us abundantly with such a wonderful little boy.
My husband and I enjoy raising him in a God centered household, learning how to love God, His Word and what it means to be be a faithful son of God.
I continue to tell him each day how much I love him and how proud I am of him. I try to hard to build him up and show him the kind of love that God shows us all.
Happy Birthday to my boy … to my boy … to my boy. Happy Birthday to my boy … my boy Jack-a-Mo!
I've done this a few times with jack and now he asks to do it. So just now we looked up and what did he see in this cloud???
"A giant tootsie roll!"
Hehehe I love this kid!

I made ATC’s for the upcoming Adobe Laptop Crop (August 8, 2009) hosted by my favorite digital scrapbooking company. I went last year and definitely wanted to go again this year. I had sooo much fun I COULD NOT miss this year’s crop.
Anywho here are my ATC’s that I had printed on playing cards at Artscow.com I had heard great things about this company and how affordable their printed items are (especially with one of their many sales or coupons). This was a much more affordable way for me to do ATC’s this year compared to making them myself like last year. The cards were so affordable I ordered 2 different designs one with the Adobe Laptop Crop on it and one without for my future crops.
They came in a hard plastic case. WOW I was not expecting such nice packaging I figured they’d come just shrink wrapped. The case will be very handy during travel.
The quality of the prints are GREAT!! The digital scrapbook supplies I used sure did POP off the cards. The cards are really thick and look like they will with stand lots of handling.
Over all I am very pleased with the playing cards I ordered from the online photo products printer Artscow.com
Hey if you’re interested in shopping through Artscow.com as well let me know I’ll refer you and I’ll get a little bonus coupon!!!
I have another ordering coming of a different product and I’ll let you know how those turn out too.
