Thankful Wreath Printable

thankful wreath craft

Today I'm sharing a little craft I've been working on for our bimonthly Children's Fellowship.  I'm sharing on having a thankful heart and thought this craft would be a great compliment to the sharing as well as a visual reminder for our kids. This would also make a great craft to make in your homeschool classroom.

This was a simple craft if you're doing this with one or two kids who can easily handle scissors it might take you about 30 minutes to complete since there is a bit of cutting involved.

I am preparing 15 copies of this craft and the cutting needs to be done ahead of time.  So my prep time is much longer.  However having all the pieces cut the assembly of this craft took about 10 minutes.

I've designed the craft as a template that you can download here and print out at home.

cardstock
construction paper
scissors
glue stick
crayons or markers
yarn, ribbon, or string

Instructions:

  1. Print Template onto heavy weight cardstock.
  2. Cut along the solid lines to cut out the Banner, Wreath, & Leaf Template.
  3. Trace the leaf template onto your construction paper & cut out your leaves. (Approximately 20 leaves cover the wreath)
  4. Hole Punch holes in wreath & tie yarn to form a hanger
  5. Color the ‘I am Thankful’ banner
  6. Arrange and glue the leaves onto the wreath.
  7. Glue the ‘I am Thankful!’ banner over the leaves onto the  wreath
  8. Write things that you are thankful for on the leaves

Is anyone else excited about this movie?  I know a few kiddos my son’s age and their parents who can’t wait to get out to see this movie.

We’ve checked out a bunch of the trailer videos on YouTube and my music loving kiddo is especially loving the Summertime Music video with Bridgit Mendler.

I’ve been given the opportunity to share with you some Arrietty themed activity sheets! Check them out here:

Printable Valentines Day Cards {Freebie}

Posted by Liz McCoy Thursday, January 12, 2012 View Comments

Next month as you all know there is a little holiday all about LOVE.  I’m excited to celebrate this year just thinking of those I love and making hand crafted valentines.  My son and I will be hosting a little Valentine’s Day Party at our home for a couple of my homeschooling moms and their kids.  I’m getting lots of inspiration from this site.

I love that it is so easy these days to find fantastic inspiration for crafts and diy projects on Pinterest. I found this great hand colored and hand designed hearts. I loved the look of them and wanted to design a few myself, using the computer as my medium of choice!

The hearts come fully colored and all you need to do is print on white cardstock. Once you cut out the hearts you can give them as is, or you can do what I did.  I chose coordinating solid colored paper (Staples brand Brights paper) and glued the cut hearts.  Then cut around the heart leaving a little colored edge.  If you fold your background paper in half and glue towards the folded edge you could have a card that opens.  You could just leave these as flat cards too.  Speaking of Pinterest, I also got all my color combinations from searching the site. There is just so much inspiration over there!
