I’m so glad to have accepted the challenge from my friend Heather with the 30 Day Blog Challenge. I’ve found the topics pretty simply yet very challenging. Today’s prompt is:
Day 9-A picture of your friends
I can definitely say I have lots of friends just I don’t have many close friends. I especially do not get to hang out with friends like girls nights and such. I do think that facebook has provided a great forum for me to be social with my friends even though our life schedule is so busy. Plus finding a photo with me actually in the picture with friends is pretty rare as I’m usually the one taking the picts.
Here are a few pictures of my friends that have been taking lately:
A photo of our branch taking a short little walk at Watson Mill Bridge State Park last Sunday.
Here’s a shot the hubby took of me and my good friend Sarah from High School at her wedding last Saturday. Sorry for the crappy camera phone photo. She was a gorgeous bride and the photo does not do her justice.
Here is a shot of us with our friends D & A nearly 2 years ago for my birthday. They’ve recently moved
My Digital Scrapbooking buddies at one of our Down South Scrapper Crops!
Of course my sisters are my friends. We hang out and enjoy each other’s company as often as possible. Mom and J & RL are my garage sale buddies.
I can honestly say this guy is my best friend. We definitely have fun together and enjoy the time we get as a couple and as a family. That’s a good thing as other than work people he’s the person I spend my free time with.

Today’s topic in the 30 Day Blog Challenge is:
Day 8-A place you've traveled to
One of our favorite places to visit is Cades Cove an attraction in the Smoky Mountain National Park.
I was introduced to this treasure by my husband and his family. Over the last 10 years we’ve gone numerous times, and during all times of the year too. Of course fall is probably the most incredible time to go seeing the leaves change. The Smoky Mountains though are always smoky and in any season an absolutely breath taking vista.
A picture from July when we took my parents and sisters for the first time. We didn’t have much time to go hiking and exploring but we did enjoy the park.
One of the unique things about Cades Cove is that it is an 11 mile loop that you can drive through and stop along the way. You could picnic and spread out a blanket in the many fields.
There are opportunities to see all kinds of nature, deer and bears are often seen. I remember once seeing a baby cub up in a tree lots of people pulled over to watch and see. I did not want to get out because I knew mama bear couldn’t be too far away.
Here is the bear we saw in July. It was just walking down a path, saw us and turned around and went back towards the woods.
There are buildings and sites to see along the way. At the mid point there are restrooms and demonstrations. As well as a grouping of buildings as a settlement. This part of the park is preserved to illustrate how settlers lived a long time ago in that valley.
It’s a beautiful place to visit and is one of our favorites!

I’m happy to see I’ve made it a week continuing with the 30 Day Blog Challenge. Today’s topic is:
Day 7-Favorite movies
I don’t get to go to the movies very often as there doesn’t seem to be the time or the money. We do try to go on December 25th with the whole family and we pick a family movie. I also don’t like spending $10 on a movie and not knowing for sure I’ll like it so I stick to comedies and romantic comedies and hope that the 2 hours will be worth the high price LOL. There are few romantic comedies that I don’t like, some I even LOVE. Here are a few of my all time favorite movies.
A Christmas Story
Adventures in Babysitting
Dirty Dancing
Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Goonies
Grease
Hope Floats
Sweet Home Alabama
Troop Beverly Hills
Toy Story 3 (a new fav!)
Here’s a shot of my son with my cousin’s son when we went to watch Toy Story 3 together when they visited back in June
Well that’s all I can think of right now. I’m obviously no film critic or cinema enthusiast I just like what I like!

Before I get to today’s blog prompt here is a real-time update. I was on my way home last night and received a call from my mom saying my son was pretty sick he threw up twice in her car on their way home from the orthodontist. Bless his heart! He threw up a few more times before bed time, he couldn’t keep water down. We were able to get him to eat a couple crackers before he went to bed. The night went really well the hubby took that shift for me and no issues. This morning he seems to be doing better has a bit of energy, we’re just working on crackers and a little Gatorade and I’ll see how he does.
Now back to the 30 Day Blog Challenge. I’m glad today’s topic is pretty easy to accomplish, I just didn’t have it in me to write last night.
Day 6-A picture of something that makes you happy
This picture has always made me happy. It is exactly how he was as a baby HAPPY! We were at a state meeting in Pine Mountain, GA. I had taken him outside to change his diaper in the stroller and it was the perfect capture in his little bow tie!

Today’s topic in the 30 Day Blog Challenge is:
Day 5-Your siblings
So I mentioned that I was one of 5 girls right? These are my sisters! For a long while there were just us four. We are all 18 months apart which made for always having someone to play with. It also meant lots of bickering and girly disputes! Nine years after the first youngest came number five. I was 13 when she was born and let me tell you it was FUN! We all loved helping with our real life baby doll.
If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child. ~Linda Sunshine
We’re all grown up now and definitely have our own personalities and interests. I’m the oldest and am married with one child and one on the way. The second oldest is R, who has completed her training to be come a minister for The Way International, she now resides in Ohio full time and works at our ministry’s headquarters. The middle girl T, is our world traveller she’s been to many countries and I think speaks 3 (or 4) languages. Most recently she was a nanny in NYC but now she’s back home for a while as she too has enrolled in our ministry’s leadership program. The second youngest, R, is married and is a high school teacher here locally, this time next year she believingly will be living in South Carolina with her husband. The youngest, J, is still in high school and is active in the drama program and color / winter guard. She’s a tremendous babysitter too!
Sisters is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship. ~Margaret Mead
I sure do love these ladies and all that they offer our family. When we’re all together we’re loud and like to all talk at once. We do very much enjoy the time we have together, more and more it is becoming a rare treat to get to be in the same room with each other. When we’re not chatting we LOVE to play games, board games, card games, puzzles, etc. We enjoy the fellowship that we have together as sisters.
When sisters stand shoulder to shoulder, who stands a chance against us? ~Pam Brown
I am excited to see how our relationships become even sweeter as we get older. I certainly thank God for each one of them!

I’m continuing on the 30 day blog challenge and today’s prompt is:
Day 4-Your parents
I’m finding these topics quite challenging just having to put into words things I feel and know in my heart but not necessarily something I express.
What can I say about my parents, well first is that I LOVE THEM!!! Now that I’m a parent I have a new perspective on things and like most mature kids we realize how much our parents know and how much we want to learn from them. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year, now there’s an example.
They’ve raised five girls in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and have seen them grow into wonderful believing women. I’ve definitely learned a lot from their example of being parents I often reference my childhood memories when working with my son. I especially remember the fun things my mom would do with us girls, like making homemade donuts. She’d often handmade our bless ‘n treat costumes. She’d pick me up at school and we’d take my baby sister in the stroller and we’d walk a few blocks to McDonald’s and get kiddie cones! I remember my dad taking us girls to the town donut shop and treating us to which ever donut we wanted.
Well these two people are some of the most incredible people I know! They’re service to God’s people is another area I see their tremendous example. I love how they serve each day. I try hard to live like that.
I’m grateful that we live so close to them (ahem…in the same neighborhood) I get to see them daily as my mother watches my son while I work. I’m even more blessed that my son (and eventually my daughter) have such a close relationship with them.
I definitely am thankful to have such great parents!

Here are some friends taking the 30 day blog challenge:
- A Snowbird in Paradise
- Wuvies Whimsies Designs
- Heyl Family Blog
- McInnis Memorable Moments
- Ranking Ideas
I’m really enjoying the process and I’m wanting the challenge to really get me in a habit of regularly blogging again. One of the ladies on the list mentioned that she’d stop regularly blogging because she’d gotten into thinking no one is reading it so why bother. I think I was there a while ago and then I realized I forgot why I blog and that’s to document the every day things in my life and the lives of those in my family. While I love getting comments and knowing that someone is reading what I write and maybe even cares…I blog for ME…duh!
Have you joined the bandwagon, and are participating in the 30 day blog challenge? Let me know!
I’m still remaining faithful to the 30 Day Blog Challenge, issued by my friend Heather.
Day 3-Your first love (or "Your spouse")
This is my husband of 7 years, Ken, I thank God each day for bringing him into my life. We knew God would bless us greatly as we walked out on His Word together as a married couple, but we had no clue how much! Currently he is finishing up his master’s degree at Georgia State University (only one semester left ~ Way to go honey!!) He has great vision for our family and works so hard to achieve those goals for himself and for all of us. He is an amazing husband and father! I love you honey and am so proud to be your wife!

I’m participating in the 30 Day Blog Challenge issued by my friend, Heather. Today’s prompt is:
Day 2-Meaning behind your blog name
Well I guess there are two components in the name first the domain name which isn’t that exciting and pretty self explanatory it’s my name.
The second part of the blog name is Liz 2.0 a while back I adopted that name to kind of emphasize how I’m constantly learning and growing. I added a quote from VPW that change comes from the inside out. Over all I’m trying to improve and grow in all aspects of my life. This blog is mostly about me and the things I spend my time doing.
So not to clever and not to deep but that’s the meaning behind the blog name.

YAY I’m back to scrapping! It sure has been a long time since I’ve been able to sit down and scrap. I’m still without a good spot in the house but I'm getting used to making due with what space I have.
The photo was taken last weekend at the corn maze. We had fun as a family and Grandpa & Grandma B and Aunt Jessie joined us too! I was thankful to get a great shot of the three of us, despite the fact that the kiddo had no interest in stopping his exploring to take a photo.
I also got this 2 page layout completed these photos were taking back in July when we took our trip up to Ohio to see Aunt Becca. Us girls make a detour stop at Goats on the Roof in N. Georgia that was FUN!!
I can’t make any promises but I’m excited to have accomplished 3 pages in one day! We’ll see how many more I can accomplish before our baby girl arrives.
So I’m participating in a 30 Day Blog Challenge and today’s prompt is:
Day 1: Introduce, recent picture, 15 interesting facts
That’s me on the right. My name is Elizabeth McCoy, you can call me Liz as most my friends do. I’m a 20 something (okay nearly 30) daughter, wife and mother living outside of Atlanta, GA. I do my best to live each day standing on God’s Word with a thankful heart.
Okay onto the interesting facts, in no particular order.
- I’m one of 5 daughters.
- I’m pregnant with our second child and it’s a girl!
- I love to take pictures and document them in my scrapbooks.
- Breakfast is my favorite meal.
- I have a 4 year old son.
- I love romantic comedies.
- I consider game shows my sports.
- I love collecting and finding great children’s toys, but I don’t like to play with them as much as collecting LOL.
- One of my dreams is coming true next year. I will be a stay at home mom!
- I’m a homebody, not much of a party girl.
- I love crafting, but don’t have much time right now.
- I’m a croc fan.
- PJ’s rock! I change into them as quickly as possible every evening.
- I’m a morning person.
- I will be homeschooling my son next year.
Well I’m not sure how interesting those facts were but that was a difficult exercise. Until tomorrow!
