Last weekend we had an opportunity to see a screening of the new Universal movie HOP! The movie started at 10 down at Atlantic Station which meant we had to get up pretty early for a Saturday and load up both kids and get our butts on the road. Since we were going to be right next to Ikea, I knew we had to make plans to basically be gone all day (which we were).
The kiddo loved the movie, he is a HUGE Alvin and the Chipmunks fan and this movie kind of fit the same style. Tons of great music that had him dancing in his seat. Even my husband and I got some good laughs too. The only thing I mentioned to my husband was that we definitely cannot skimp on the kid’s Easter basket this year. HA! We will definitely be adding this movie to our DVD collection.
Let me know if you go to see this with your kiddos.
After the movie we headed over to Ikea for an afternoon of shopping. I think I wore the boys out. Of course little E and I could have kept going. We did find a solution for our little nook in the kitchen and also found a lighting solution to the playroom. I’m excited for the hubby to install everything hopefully this weekend.
This week is the week I got back into the swing of things. We had received a bunch of Publix $5/30 coupons so we definitely wanted to start using those we had 5 transactions in one trip to Publix. We split the items into 5 transactions so we could use a store coupon for $10 off a $50 gas gift card when you spend $25.
Since gas does not count in my grocery budget,
I spent $22.13 and saved an average of 79.67%
I definitely met my goal of $50/week. How did you do?
Have you heard of Mypoints.com?? It is a pretty cool rewards site that you earn points towards gift cards.
I’ve been a member since 2008 and have redeemed my points for multiple gift cards. MyPoints offers many different ways to earn points, here are a few of the ways I’ve earned points.
- Online Shopping
If you’re already a big online shopper then you’ll love being a MyPoints member. Many of the top merchants like Barnes & Nobles, Walmart, Dell, Apple are included and you can earn up to 10 points per dollar spent!! - Marketing Emails
Daily you will receive multiple emails from different companies. The companies usually offer a great deal through these emails which if you take advantage of the deal you’ll get lots of points. However if the deal doesn’t interest you, no problem, MyPoints offers you 5 points just for clicking through and not taking the deal.
The easiest way to earn points is by clicking through the advertisement emails that MyPoints sends me. If you’re like me and get tons of email every day you’ll want to make use of your email’s filtering. I filter all the MyPoints emails to one folder and take time everyday or every other day to go through the emails and click through to get my 5 points. If you do it all at once instead of as each email comes in it is much less over whelming.
- Coupons
You know I’m a huge couponer, and MyPoints.com offers printable coupons and you can earn points for printing & redeeming them. For every coupon printed you get 10 points. Plus earn 25 Bonus Points when you print and redeem any 10 or more coupons.com, SmartSource.com or save and redeem any 10 or more Cellfire.com coupons in a month. I certainly do meet that second requirement each month. - Referrals
And this is why I’m writing this blog post. I can earn points for referring friends as well as if they shop/earn points. Right now there is a deal going on, if I refer you and you make a purchase of $20 or more we both get 750 points. That’s a pretty good deal. - Toolbar/Web Searches
I’ve recently downloaded the toolbar and have been using the mypoints search engine for searches which after a certain number of searches I will earn points. That’s pretty easy as I do searches quite frequently.
There are lots of other ways to earn points and eventually redeem them for gift cards, the above are the main ways that I earn points. If you’re interested in being referred let me know I’ll send you a referral email. It’s super easy to earn points and for a little bit of effort on your part you’ll be redeeming gift cards for “free” money in no time.
Well the Scrap the Map laptop crop last Saturday really got me inspired to scrap again. I’m wanting to try and schedule some scrapping time. We’ll see how that works out! I did find some amazing tutorials on digital scrapbooking with Picasa. I completed this layout in a couple minutes using the free google software.

This is our little girl at one month old. It’s hard to believe she’s already been with us for 5 weeks! We love her to pieces!
Another slower week, and only one trip to Kroger but it was a really great trip for me! I only had 2 things I HAD to buy this week which were the free butterfingers and the nearly free rice.
So I spent $7.92 and saved an average of 94.18%
A great week in my opinion I definitely stayed within my $50/week goal.
Happy Couponing!
After Italian Days I was wiped out, and this week reflected that. I just made a trip to Costco.
I spent a total of $20.57 and saved 0%.
My spending total was well within budget but my savings percentage definitely isn’t where I like it. However I will say that I estimate shopping at the wholesale clubs as a 30% savings off of grocery store prices just in the fact of buying in bulk.
Here is my recap for February:
Week 1: $62.60
Week 2: $43.07
Week 3: $20.57
Total spent for February was $126.24 that’s well within my $200/month goal. YAY (Yes it helps February was a short month!)
Happy Couponing
Well it has been a while since I’ve scrapbooked. I’m starting to get the itch and want to work time into my schedule to start the little girl’s baby book. So when I heard Scrap the Map had finally come to Georgia I was super excited!! I registered right away. I’m even bringing the baby along.
This laptop crop is being hosted on a house boat! How cool it that?
To all my nearby friends I wanted to invite you to come along with me to this Laptop Crop on March 12th. Even if you have never digitally scrapbooked before no worries, I’d be happy to show you.
Happy Scrapping!!
This week was a pretty great week! We scored lots of overage which helped pay for some items that we didn’t get on sale. Lots of items at 80% to over 100% off! Plus I was finally BELOW my weekly goal of $50.
I spent $43.07 and saved an average of 81.45%
I’ve already started shopping in the current week and it looks like it will be a slow one which is good. I’m enjoying time spent with my family and my sister who is in town visiting.
Happy Shopping!!
