The Story: This shot is one taken in the Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, Tennessee can you tell why they’re called the Smoky Mountains? It is quite an amazing view to see and it really makes you thank God for the natural beauty there is in this world. One of our absolute favorite places to visit is Cades Cove, it is a gorgeous place so much to see and enjoy. We’ve seen more than 50 deer in one trip and a mamma and baby black bear. AMAZING!

I went to Publix last night (the last night of the sale) to pick up my deals for the week. This is what I got five cartons of orange juice for .80 each! (I got a rain check b/c I bought them out). I got four 2 packs of smart balance for $1.40 each they were BOGO also but my coupon got me a free half gallon of milk with any smart balance product! So the milk was free or the milk and vegetable spread were .70 each!
I got a rain check on the oj because I need to purchase more of that (it doesn’t expire until May and I can freeze it). I’m excited that it is 50% less sugar. I also got a rain check for the TGI Friday Skillet meals as they were also BOGO @7.99 I have 2.00 off coupons which will make each bag $2!!
A truck should be making a delivery today so I’m headed back tonight.
I’m going this Saturday to Kroger and I’ll share the deals we score there with you.

The last Friday through Monday I was off work and at home with my sweet wonderful kiddo! We had an awesome time together playing outside and enjoying the INCREDIBLE weather. I was able to get through my nearly 5 weeks of paper sorting to get my coupons out of them. Because of the quantity it took me a couple days to complete (I'll post pictures when I get home) we also were able to make a big empty space in the garage!! We both feel better about that.
SO for today my tackle is my WORK! I have lots to get done here at the office. Five states of monthly tax filings/reporting, payroll. I am going to be here for the rest of the week so probably not much time online.
I'll try to post some before & after shots of my coupon sorting and other projects I tackled this weekend.
Are you planning on tackling anything today? This week? This weekend?
This layout took me a few days to complete! Is that sad or what??? There isn’t even much to the layout. I started out with the picture and I wouldn’t budge I had tried 2 different quick clicks and then just settled on this one. Then I had like 3 different kits worth of background papers cycling through the different strips of paper. Then I was stumped with what I wanted in the “white space” i just didn’t think it was complete with just the picture. I’m happy with the layout I can’t say it is my favorite and I’m not quite sure I’ve done the picture justice but it will have to do for now and I’ve completed another page for the baby book.

Here is a shot I took last summer while in Ohio for a family reunion.
I’m totally in love with Kim Liddiard’s new Bokeh overlays (and guess what she’s making more!!). I also used Lauren’s TTV overlays and also some FREE pioneer woman photoshop actions. I’m pleased with how this one turned out and will be getting it printed up for my little sister’s room.

I’m knocking out pages for his first year scrapbook and close to reaching my current scrapbooking goal.
Have you scrapped lately?? Are you working towards any goals?
I am finally making it a priority to get my son’s baby album (age 0 to 1) DONE! Yes my child is two and a half years old already and I have yet to complete his baby album. I think my perfectionism has really stopped me from completing this album. I want everything to match and have a cohesive plan. STOP LIZ, lighten up! I think having something will be a blessing to him more than nothing right? I have pages completed that are from here and there but I haven’t started looking at them as a whole album.
I want to get it professionally printed in a hardbound book. I think usually the minimum page requirement is 20 pages, so I’m shooting for 20 (or more) pages. My goal is to have at least one layout to represent each month. So that’s 12 plus 8 more pages from throughout the year.
Right now this is what I have:
Month # of Layouts
1 3
2 0
3 1
4 2
5 2
6 0
7 2
8 0
9 2
10 0
11 0
12 0
Which brings me to my reason for this post I completed a page on Thursday!!! It is from Jack’s 3 week old photo shoot.

One thing I’m finding while scrapping pictures so long ago is that I’ve forgotten the little things that I loved at that age or what was new. As you probably know kids change so fast if you’re not writing this stuff down or documenting it some how you’ll forget that one thing that was SOOO cute one day or week and they grew out of the next, doing something cuter.
I’m not sure where I will be getting it printed I may try out a few different printers and with the extra copies give them to the grandparents, it will also depend on where I can get the best deal to get them printed.
My friend Janet just recently posted about her scrapbook organization and planning and I was excited to see we both were on the same page. Janet however has far surpassed me in her printing endeavors. I hope to have my books look so wonderful as hers.
Do you have a plan for you scrapbooking?? Are you participating in the scrapolution at DSP? Have you had any hardbound books made do you have a preference on printers??

Here we are up in Cades Cove near Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In this photo we’ve been married just over a year. We went up to Tennessee for a weekend trip and my sister Rosie, came along on the trip too. That was a weird trip, a horrible experience at a restaurant (think Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares) and then not being able to find a hotel for half the night and finally found on that was definitely not a first choice. A fun trip to think about 4+ years later at the time it wasn’t very funny.
I’d love it if you’d play along with me with your forgotten photos. Hey if you want you can put the name of your picture/blog post title in where it says your name rather than putting your name.

Okay my cousin sarah and my other cousin sara have both posted this challenge on their blogs and I want to play along. The first 5 to comment on this blog post will receive a gift from me. The key is you must pay it forward and either do the same on your blog or offline and do a random act of kindness for someone around you.
Come back here and share how you pay it forward in your life.
We had our first Duluth Coupon Group Meeting on Saturday and it was GREAT! We were able to really help each other plan our grocery lists and also share coupons. I wanted to share some picture with you. I had brought all my coupons in the back of my van (they are still there).
I’ve got to find a more organized way to put them in the car. A shelf maybe??? Rosie and I were able to sort through them and put a bunch of weeks into the recycle bin.
Rosie and I went to Kroger too on Saturday and got some good deals with our coupons and found some food on clearance or “manager’s special”.
Here is our cart:
One of the really good deals were the Quaker Rice Cakes. They were on sale this week for $.99 with your Kroger card and we had a $1 off 1 coupon. So FREE! We each got 15+ bags. I found a bunch of bread on clearance for less than $1. There is also a great soda deal right now on Pepsi products. Three 12 packs for $9 then you get a Diet Pepsi for free. Oh yeah and their $5 off promotion when you buy 10 qualifying items I got that deal twice. A great trip to the store that’s for sure!

Yesterday was a FANTASTIC day! Eighty degrees with a cooling breeze truly a perfect day. I did get out side but spent most of the morning inside tackling some cleaning projects.
First I hit the bathroom hard! Thoroughly cleaning everything. I even removed some old cracked sealer from the grout along the tub and shower wall. Ken re applied it last night when he got home.
Even the kiddo got in on the action:
I had to put out a fire in the kids room he felt like taking EVERY book off his bookshelf. ACK!
I got the big pile of dishes done too. Then after the kiddo’s nap we went to Costco and Target with grandma. Then we played outside for a bit enjoying the weather. Over all a TERRIFIC day!!!
Okay I had to play along with my friend sharon and her super hero post.
This comic book cover was easily put together using an online app called the hero factory. Go check it out. Post a link and let me know if you put together your own hero. I know you’ve always wanted to be a super hero right!

I took lots of pictures, some for PAD and others just for fun. February was a busy month for me at my day job so it kind of reflected here on the blog. I’m looking forward to March being more mild.
Thanks everyone for participating in last month’s poll. Looks pretty close about Valentine’s Day.

Thanks for tuning in everyone. Sorry for the late post. I’ve been sick all weekend and haven’t felt up to sitting at the computer very long. We’ve got a little testimonial for you today from my friend Kim Liddiard. She’s taken off with this couponing and has completely made it her own. It’s exciting for me to be able to share deals and ideas and fellowship around another common interest (we also both LOVE digital scrapbooking).

Let me start off with... I blame it all on Liz! I don't even remember how the subject came up, but she started telling me of the wonderful world of savings in the coupon world. Well then, I just had to see it for myself. Being a Sam's Club shopper for close to $20 years and hardly even going to the local grocery store, I thought I was doing pretty good with our grocery spending. It was funny, too, I always got the same things when I went with very little variation in our diet. Bulk would save me the many trips to the store and I could go a few weeks without having to shop again. With couponing, I am enjoying the thrill of the hunt to find new deals. I have always done this when shopping for anything else, including electronics... why not our food! My latest trip was only $83 and I saved $77 - a savings of about 45% on my bill... but that is not all! I got a $10 on your next order by paying attention to a frozen foods deal. Woot! You really ought to try it! If you get hooked... do what I do... blame it all on Liz!
P.S. The school wants me to get a mom's group going that will show them how to save money on groceries and be more economically minded... Isn't that cool?!
I’d love to hear from more of you and your couponing experiences. Oh and if you’d like to check out Kim’s digital scrapbook designs here blog is: http://thecreativepixel.com .

I found this torn paper heart at the bottom of the recycle bin after emptying 4 big bins of papers into the recycle dumpster. How cool was this to see the day after Valentine’s day!! And to think I could have missed it if I was in a hurry. Just a random reminder to LOVE.
I am loving how much my son is enjoying his activity calendar. Of course I could be aggressive to finish it up and then we’d be all set.
I love my son’s new smile. It’s cheesy and adorable! It definitely puts a smile on my face. He loves saying “picture me mom…picture me”.
